Research Methods Experience

  • Data Quality Assurance and Data Management: Current role at Leeds Trinity University requires management of central datasets on income and research staff for research outputs. This includes contributing to periodic reports drawn from these data sets.
  • Research methods: Qualitative methods (including use of NVIVO); Quantitative Statistical methods (SPSS, JASP); Documentary methods; survey methods, legal analysis methods, interdisciplinary methods.
  • Qualitative interview skills used on for the Doctoral thesis above and, outside of academia, research on the UK government’s Kickstart programme which I led and conducted independently. 
  • A research assistant role for the Global Health Policy Unit and the University of Leeds on ‘Covid-19 responses’ (sponsored by the World Health Organisation) (ref: Professor Garrett Brown). 
  • A research assistant role for a comparative project examining 2014 European Parliament elections. This produced the co-authored book chapter listed below. 
  • Research assistant role in 2017 for the EU sanctioned MAX project (A project seeking to maximise migrants’ contribution to society). This brought engagement with European Social Survey. (2017, sections 2 and 3).
  • Research conducted from 2015-2018 for the European Research Council (ERC) funded TEMS Marketization project led by Associate Professor Ian Greer on EU Competition policy and Healthcare.

Teaching & Training

University of Leeds – 2014 to 2021

Leeds Trinity University (2023-Present) 

As part of my wide-ranging research development role at Leeds Trinity I designed and delivered research development training to academic staff and postgraduate researchers covered included: Research project management and research design, research budgeting and costing, research methods, sustainable research, data management plans for research, researcher funders and funding, health research and a suite of training on the use and governance of AI in research.
